When your dealership receives an Internet Lead, a new Deal can be automatically created. This saves your sales team time from having to create Deals manually on their own, and also triggers the creation and execution of Work Plan-type tasks and automated emails/texts.
If you’re a Selly User with Manager access, you can set up your Deal Auto-creation settings by following the steps outlined below:
- Navigate to Settings > Deal Stage Settings.
- On the right side of the screen, you’ll see Deal Auto Creation Settings. Make sure that the switch is turned ON if you would like the submission on Internet Leads to trigger the creation of a Deal.
- Select the in-progress Deal Stage that you’d like each Deal to be automatically created in when an Internet Lead is submitted.
Automatic Deal-creation Requirements
Not all Internet Lead submissions lead to a Deal being automatically created. There are a few requirements that must be fulfilled in order for Selly to automatically create a Deal:
-
The Internet Lead must be submitted during your dealership’s open hours.
-
The Client associated with the Internet Lead must not have an existing in-progress (not Sold and not Lost) Deal.
-
The Internet Lead must contain a Vehicle of interest. Leads without a vehicle, or trade-in appraisal-type leads without a vehicle of interest will not trigger the automatic creation of a Deal.
Automated Communication (Work Plan and Internet Lead AutoText)
You may be wondering how Deal Auto-creation affects the timing of your various communication automation settings (such as Work Plan Emails/SmartTexts and Internet Lead AutoTexts). Automatically-created Deals follow the same timing rules as Deals that are created manually. The Work Plan tasks, emails, and text messages in the given Deal Stage are scheduled based on the time when the Deal is automatically created. Below are a list of scenarios where communication automation still apply when a Deal is created automatically:
- Work Plan - "Internet Lead"-status Instant Email settings - if you have an automated Email that falls under this scenario, it will still be sent automatically to the Internet Lead as long as there is a valid email address.
- Work Plan - Tasks, Emails, and SmartText Instant and Delayed settings for the given deal stage - if you have any Work Plan settings enabled for the deal stage that Deals are automatically created in, these tasks/emails/texts will be automatically scheduled (or executed, if it's an instant setting).
- Text Message Autoresponder settings - if your dealership has settings of this type enabled, then text messages will still be automatically be scheduled to be sent out as usual.
