Lost Reasons helps you understand why a particular Opportunity didn’t end up in a sale. Using this insight, you can see trends of your sales team/clients, and you can also use this information when filtering certain client segments for Text Campaigns. This may be helpful, for example, if you’re trying to target all clients with a Lost Opportunity due to a certain Lost Reason.
Customizing your Lost Reasons
Manager-type users are able to add, delete, and edit the Lost Reasons at your dealership. You can manage Lost Reasons from the Opportunities module by clicking on the Settings button.
On the Settings view, ensure that Lost Reasons is selected on the left-hand side, and add, edit, or delete Lost Reasons based on the preferences of your dealership.
Deleting a Lost Reason
If there are Opportunities whose Lost Reason is the Lost Reason you intend to delete, you’ll first need to select a different Lost Reason for those Lost Opportunities.
Selecting a Lost Reason when moving an Opportunity to the Lost stage
Whether you’re changing the stage of an Opportunity to the Lost stage using a drag-and-drop action, or from the Opportunity Quick View’s dropdown, you’ll be prompted to select the Lost Reason from a dropdown. Hovering over the information icon next to each Lost Reason will reveal the description of the Lost Reason.
Lost Reason Analytics
On the General Analytics, you’ll be able to see a section for Lost Opportunities broken down by the reason they were moved to the Lost stage.
Text Campaigns - Filtering by Lost Reason
When Clients in specific stages is selected as the target audience for Text Campaigns, if the Lost stage is selected for “Stages to Consider”, then the Lost Reasons filter options will appear. Here, you can select which Lost Reasons to consider when finding Clients with opportunities in specific stages.
This added flexibility allows you greater control when sending text campaigns to certain customer segments. An example is “Send a text message to all Lost clients within the last 3 months who were moved to Lost due to the reason, “Credit Declined”.
