Six Powerful Enhancements to Streamline Your Dealership's Payment Calculator Experience

Zendesk Admin -

We're excited to announce significant updates to our Payment Calculator tool designed to make your sales process more efficient, professional, and customizable.

Our team has listened carefully to your feedback and implemented six key enhancements that will transform how you create payment proposals for your customers. These updates focus on professional presentation, workflow efficiency, and giving you more control over how information is presented to your customers.

Branded Proposals with Your Dealership Logo

Enhance your brand identity and professionalism by including your dealership's logo on all PDF proposals. This simple branding element reinforces your dealership's identity and makes proposals look more official and trustworthy.

How to use it:

At the moment, you must contact Selly support in order to have your logo placed properly on your Proposals. You can contact us in the following ways:

  • Submit a support ticket from within your Selly account, asking for assistance with adding your logo to your proposals
  • Contact your Selly account manager, or call our support team at (650) 409-2526

Optional Signature Lines

You can now add optional signature lines for both the buyer and your dealership representatives on the final proposal. This simple addition transforms your payment proposal from an informational document into a commitment tool that helps move customers closer to purchase.

How to use it:

This is a dealership-wide setting that can only be modified by a Manager-type User.

  • Navigate to the Settings module, and click on Dealer's Settings. From here, click on Proposal Settings.
  • Under Signature Line Options, there's a dropdown to select the signature configuration. Choose between No signature line, Buyer's signature line only, or Buyer's and dealer's signature lines.
  • Optionally, you can also choose to add the date automatically to the signature line(s) by enabling the "Add date automatically" checkbox.
  • Don't forget to press Save when done modifying these settings.
  • Simply toggle the "Include Signatures" option in the Proposal Settings panel and choose whether to include buyer signatures, dealership signatures, or both.

Customizable Default Down Payments

When opening the payment calculator on any opportunity, you can customize how the three down payment options are initially calculated and set.  You can either choose to set the initial down payments based on a percentage of the vehicle's purchase price, or you can choose a fixed dollar amount. This means that if you always want the same 3 down payment options to appear by default (say, $1,000, $2,000, and $3,000), you can set the calculator to load by your desired down payment amounts.

How to use it:

This is a dealership-wide setting that can only be modified by a Manager-type User.

  • Navigate to the Settings module, and click on Dealer's Settings. From here, click on Proposal Settings.
  • Under Down Payment Default Options, there's a dropdown to select your desired down payment default. Choose between Percentage of Purchase Price-based or Fixed Dollar Amounts
    • If you've selected Percentage of Purchase Price-based, you can set 3 percentages, each of which has to be between 0% and 75%, and none of the options can be the same.
    • If you've selected Fixed Dollar Amounts, you'll set the 3 down payment amounts that will load by default each time you open the payment calculator.

Flexible Payment Matrix Display Options

You can now customize which rows and columns appear in the payment matrix to show only the financing options most relevant to your customer's situation. Whether you want to simplify to a 2x2 matrix or focus on a single term and down payment option, you now have complete control.

How to use it:

While working on the Payment Calculator, you'll now see Show/Hide icons next to each Row and above each column (see the screenshot above for visual reference).

By clicking on the Show/Hide icons, you'll notice that certain rows and columns fade in color. This means that when you eventually create the PDF Proposal, any columns that are hidden will not be shown on the Proposal. This way, you'll have complete control over the payment options you choose to include on each given proposal.

Customizable Legal Disclaimers

Managing your dealership's fees is now seamlessly integrated into the Payment Calculator tool itself. No more navigating away to the Settings page – you can update documentation fees, processing fees, and other charges right from within the calculator.
